Start with the video URL

Copy the URL of a public YouTube video with captions and paste it into the subtitle downloader. The tool discovers caption tracks that are accessible for that specific video.

Select the correct language

Review the language menu before exporting. Creator-uploaded and auto-generated tracks may have different names and availability. The downloader exports the selected track; it does not create a new translation.

Choose SRT or VTT

Download SRT for broad compatibility with video editors and subtitle upload interfaces. Choose VTT for web video, browser players, or platforms that specifically request WebVTT.

  • Both formats retain start and end timing.
  • TXT is available when you only need readable words.
  • Review several cues before using captions in a published project.

Respect the original source

Captions can contain errors and remain connected to the original video. Verify important quotations against playback, attribute the source, and make sure your reuse complies with applicable rights and platform rules.
